All of these things take some getting used to, and you should never have to give up the things you love for your beautiful new smile. Chatting with your friends over a meal out on the town, may now seem like a daunting activity as you get used to your dentures, but here are some tips to get you feeling at peace with your new mouth.

The first few days may be the most difficult, eating can feel strange and so can talking. With these new feelings, the most important part is patience. Try not to get discouraged and know that eventually all of these things will be second nature. You can make the transition easier by choosing foods that are easier to chew, like fish, cooked vegetables, eggs, yogurt, and ice cream. You should also take small bites in order to avoid biting down hard on the front teeth. Excessively chewy foods such as caramels should be avoided until you are used to your dentures.

Even after two weeks, you will begin to notice that eating has become far easier and your dentures feel much more natural.
